Art Journal Mixed Up Manic Monday

Thought I would share some of my latest art journal pages.

First, my latest Inspiration Wednesday pages.

Ribbon Page

I used hand painted fabric from my stash mixed with a few pieces of ribbon and denim.

I found the leaf rub-ons that I had didn't work well over all of the texture so I used gold paint and a stencil.  The word rub-ons worked well though. Love the colors in this one.

The next two pages I experimented with image transfers using photocopies of artist, Frida Kahlo on pages in my art journal that I had cleaned off paint brushes and brayers.

I used a beautiful gift bag that I bought a few years ago at World Market as inspiration for the next pages.  I really love the way it turned out!

The reason I love art journaling so much is that I can do a "test run" of something I want to do on canvas and incorporate what I learned into a final project.  I will probably do that with the last page,  so stay tuned!

Beautiful Easter Eggs with Gel Press

Happy spring, crafty friends!  I have a video to share with you today with an Easter project using the 8" round Gel Press Printing Plate, plastic easter eggs and plain white tissue paper.  I had such fun making these Gel Press Easter eggs!  

Check out how to made them in this video.  

Wouldn't this be a fun project to share with older kids as an alternative to dying easter eggs? Customize the eggs with your favorite colors of acrylic paint, stamps, and pretty ribbons. And you can reuse them from year to year!  Wishing everyone a very happy Easter!

Art Foamies Giveaway

Recently I created a post on the Art Anthology blog pairing their mediums and the cool new ArtFoamies foam stamps.  Go check out that blog post to see how I made these beautiful art tags.

So what about the giveaway???  Well, I believe that when I am given something unexpected, that I need to share it.  So here is what happened.  I placed an order with ArtFoamies for a bunch of their foam stamps designed by Julie Fei Fan Balzer a few weeks ago.  Received them very quickly, despite the fact that they are located in Canada! Then about a week later I received another identical order.  After checking to see if I was charged twice, I realized that they had mistakenly sent me the second order without charging me!  I sent them an email telling about the issue and told them I would send the stamps back, but that I could also keep them and promote them by having a giveaway instead.  I was planning on doing the blog post regardless so I figured it's a win win!  They agreed!  And all you need to do is comment below and tell me which is your favorite tag by midnight EST, March 3rd. On Friday, March 4th, I will randomly pick 4 people to receive 1 of the larger or 2 of the smaller stamps (some of the smaller ones go together, that's why some people will get two.)

Art from 2015

Hi everyone! I'm sharing some projects that I made for Scrap n' Art Online Magazine last year.

Lots of sewing on this one!

This card is a Scrapbook Adhesive project to show how the adhesive works on lots of different surfaces. 

We got a quilling kit that we had to use and I was very bad at it so I made this canvas.  

This is a little journal that I made using cardboard, stencils, and fabric. 

I love this collage I made of my dog, Lucy.  I had to use the bling sheet so I die-cut the wings with it and made a little collar.  I'd like to make more of these.
